Rain98 builds its progression around everyday life with Reina rather than a conventional combat level. The current Steam Demo shows a connected loop: follow the story, respond to Reina’s requests, complete apartment piecework to earn money, spend on living or shared activities, and receive Angel Passport stickers for special memories. Each part answers a different question, so a money result should not be mistaken for Passport progress and a Steam achievement should not be mistaken for an in-story reward.

All playable details here belong to Rain98 Demo AppID 3738760, released October 16, 2026. The base game at AppID 3498720 remains unreleased. The Demo gives credible evidence for the shape of these systems, but it does not publish the full economy, every sticker condition, the complete achievement list, or the launch balance.

Follow the loop instead of grinding one part

Begin from the active story request. If it needs an apartment interaction, complete that interaction before opening unrelated objects. If it needs money, select piecework and learn one clean cycle. If it needs a purchase or outing, preserve enough cash for that specific step. When the scene creates a special memory, let the Passport presentation confirm whether a sticker was awarded.

This order keeps the systems connected to the narrative. Repeating a job without a spending goal can produce cash but not necessarily new scenes. Buying random objects can reduce your options without advancing the current request. Reloading every conversation in search of a sticker can reveal alternate wording while erasing the intended emotional sequence.

The Angel Passport guide explains the confirmed sticker goal in detail. The Activities hub handles the physical steps and failure recovery for piecework. Use both when a scene combines an activity result with a relationship moment.

Treat money as access, not a score

The official Demo description says piecework supports living expenses and can make the days with Reina more enjoyable. Independent hands-on reports connect earnings to food, purchases, and additional activities. That makes money an access resource: it helps the protagonist respond to immediate needs and opens optional experiences.

Before spending, identify the current need, its displayed price, the amount you have, and what remains afterward. Keep those four values together. A store item with strong 1990s flavor can be meaningful without being required. A cheap action can be a better choice than a costly collectible if it resolves Reina’s present request.

Do not convert an old preview’s yen figure into a permanent recommendation. PAX, gamescom latam, BitSummit, TGS, and the public Steam Demo represent different test episodes. The public build in your library is the authority for its own payout screen. Record the activity name, result, date, and displayed reward when comparing strategies.

Use the Passport as a memory record

The Angel Passport is presented as a sticker book tied to the ritual at the center of Rain98. Official store copy says doing something special for Reina grants a sticker. Public interviews and multiple independent previews describe the long-term target as one hundred stickers or memories. That number expresses the ritual goal; it does not prove the current Demo contains one hundred obtainable entries.

When a sticker appears, record the scene rather than inventing a category. Note what Reina asked for, what the protagonist did, whether money or an item was involved, and which chapter contained the event. This creates a useful memory log without assigning unseen rarity, friendship points, or secret prerequisites.

Some early event coverage called them happiness stamps. The current English Steam page uses “sticker” and “Angel Passport,” so those are the clearest player-facing names. Alternate translations can describe the same system and should not be counted as separate collectibles.

Separate platform achievements from story milestones

Steam Achievements belong to the Demo application. They are external account records displayed by the Steam client. Passport stickers exist inside the story and ritual. One event could theoretically relate to both, but neither system proves the other’s unlock condition.

Steam metadata exposes six Demo achievements and marks two as hidden. A hidden entry protects its name or condition from the normal public list. Leave it hidden until ordinary play reveals it or a public, non-datamined source documents it with the current build. The base game’s achievement detail is not published, so the Demo total is not a retail total.

If an achievement fails to appear, first confirm Steam is online, the overlay/account session is active, and you are playing AppID 3738760. Preserve the save, replay only the smallest legitimate scene boundary, and avoid third-party unlock tools. Achievement repair should never put the story save at risk.

Diagnose a stalled system

Symptom
Likely boundary
Recovery
No sticker after an interaction
The scene may be ordinary dialogue or not yet complete.
Finish the request and wait for the Passport presentation instead of assuming every click pays a sticker.
Cannot afford the next option
Money was spent before pricing the visible goal.
Return to an available piecework activity and save a reserve before optional purchases.
Piecework result seems low
Incomplete item cycles or wasted movement reduced output.
Practice one complete cycle, then increase pace while watching the actual result screen.
Steam achievement remains locked
Condition, client state, or hidden status is uncertain.
Confirm the Demo AppID and Steam session; do not infer an unlock condition from its hidden slot.

Build a useful session record

Write a compact line after each meaningful system event: chapter, request, activity, money before and after, purchase, and sticker result. Include the Demo date or build only when Steam exposes it plainly; a SteamDB BuildID is a technical identifier, not a semantic version such as “v1.0.”

That record lets you compare a later Demo update without claiming every difference is a patch. If a payout changes, the result may come from your performance, a different task, or a new build. If a scene moves, the public Demo may have expanded. The Updates hub provides the dated official side of that comparison.

Plan around the current Demo boundary

The Demo stops in the first half of Chapter 2. Its systems are therefore introduced in a partial story. The developer plans to extend the Demo to the whole chapter and says players should be able to continue from their reached point after that Demo update. Nothing in that statement confirms the final economy, a complete Passport, all achievements, or transfer to the base game.

Play the existing loop for what it offers now: a character-driven sequence of reading, observation, work, spending, and shared memories. When the retail game launches, re-learn prices, activity timing, achievement scope, and sticker availability from AppID 3498720 rather than carrying every Demo assumption forward.
